Psalm 97:11

This got me to thinking about the light within all of us and how bright it can shine in order to never forget.  We each have a light that was given to us to shine in the darkness (2 Cor 4:6).  How do we make that light shine?  We continue to study the word of God.  If we keep God alive within us, then that light will shine so brightly that you can’t help but see it (Luke 11:36).  We all make mistakes but as we remain on the path of righteousness, meaning we strive and make every effort to remain in the word, the path can and will remain clear and bright (Proverbs 4:18).  Thinking back to the monuments in DC, the lights that are used are a very harsh lighting.  They exude a heat that can burn to the touch.  But they serve a purpose by allowing us to see what we would otherwise never see in the dark.  Gods word is the same way (1 John 2:8).  I love the way it is put in 2 Peter 1:19;{And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts,}.  You can’t help but pay attention to the lamp shining in a dark place right?  So it is when you have the light of the spirit shining within you!  The parable of the woman who loses one coin and lights up the whole house to seek it out.  So we should be when we feel we have lost our way.  We should light up our whole house with Gods word and rejoice upon the return back to the foot of the throne (Luke 15: 8-10)

Light is necessary for us to see.  Light is necessary for us to find what we are looking for.  We don’t turn off the lights when we are sincerely seeking something that we have lost.  Let us turn to the bible in the same way.  It is necessary for us to see ourselves thru Jesus Christ.  It is necessary for us to find who we are in His kingdom.  The light within is awakened when we give ourselves over to the Lord and let Him lead us every step of the way.  We become a light that is unmistakable and never dull.  We long to make the light grow brighter and to share that same light with others so that they may see their way thru and out of the darkness.  As we go about our daily lives, we open our eyes to the light of day just as we open our hearts to our relationship with God when we read our bible.  Let your light shine!
