Every now and again I come across someone who is like a kindred spirit. You know, the kind that you can just jump into a conversation like you are picking up where you left off and just filling in what you missed. I found that my conversation with Kade was just that. Fun, unique, informative and full of life! Take a moment to look into the world of Kade Anderson.
Born in North Philadelphia, music has always been apart of his life. He has Uncles and Cousins, who have all worked with some major players in the music industry. But as for Kade, music really took form after his parents died and he moved to Monterey Park, California and from there Fontana, California . Out in California is where he developed a deeper love for music and the artistry of being an MC. From that point on, he spent time developing his skills and honing his word play in order to better my God given talent. After graduating high school, he moved back to the East Coast and met his wife in Dover, Delaware. From there, they moved to Wilmington, Delaware and have been there ever since. Currently, he is the CEO and Founder of Colosseum Media, which not only focuses on music, but also on photography and videography. Anything that is related to art, be pictures or video, he wanted to be apart of it. “You can consider me Will Smith aka Fresh Prince, but I didn’t move to Bel Air (laughs). I have always wanted to do music because you could reach so many people with it”, explains Kade. For example, do you remember the Sandy Hook shooting? My group member and I mad a song titled, “Raining Tear Drops,” in dedication to not only the Sandy Hook victims but to anyone who has lost someone due to violence. The outreach was so strong that the fan page for Charlie Hunnam (Star/Actor of the FX Hit series Sons of Anarchy) shared it so that it would reach more people. For Kade, that was a massive amount of inspiration to continue to do what he does. Being that he has family members that are still in the music business, he can always turn to them when there are questions or concerns. That is always a good resource to have.
What inspires Kade to do what he does? His family, his wife who is his muse. His kids are like little balls of, “keep going daddy, we know you can make it.” Without them and God, I wouldn’t be where I am today. They are his biggest reason for pursuing his dream and wanting to make a better life for himself. Like any other artist he has that one obstacle that he works at continually…… getting over the fear of failure. Remembering his first time being on stage, it was electric. You feel like you have control over the entire room. You can feel the energy in the crowd when they are relating to your music regardless if they are yelling or standing there quiet, hanging on to every word. It really makes you feel empowered.
What would he change about what he does? Nothing! (he laughs) No, seriously… I would change the direction of how I handled some previous business encounters, but other than that, everything that I have experienced has taught what I know now.
His advice to the young crowd? Have fun with it, but at the end of the day, you need to know your worth. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, everything is business. So, while you are having fun, remember to protect yourself, your rights, your image, and your voice because nowadays, people will take that and try to make it their’s.
There is the one thing that he constantly does or says that makes a difference in the outcome of what Kade does?
Yes! “Teamwork makes the dream work.” Also, “If you can think it, then you can achieve it.”
What is in store for the future?
That’s an odd question for me to answer because only God knows what my future has in store for me. But as far as what I can do, is do my best to be prepared for what ever comes. My vision for 2016 is to get back to the roots of why I started doing this in the first place, making it more fun and less personal, and to keep building a strong team.
And there you have it! A young man with a dream that is now his vision and his God given purpose! I expect to see alot more from this young man and possibly work with him in the future! Thank you for taking the time to let my readers in on your world!
