Don’t Hoard your Blessings

As I was scrolling through my social media today I took notice of how many people have extraordinary things that are happening to them.  Then I noticed how they want others to be happy for them but they are not willing to share.  What is that??

When we have received a blessing it is not for us to keep to ourselves.  We are to be a blessing to others!  The Bible clearly states in many places what a blessing can and can’t be.  Proverbs 11:25-26 Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered. The people curse him who holds back grain, but a blessing is on the head of him who sells it. What that says to me is that you gain so much more when you bring your blessing forward.  If you hold back, well, not so good!  2 Corinthians 9:8-11 Besides, God is able to make every blessing of yours overflow for you, so that in every situation you will always have all you need for any good work. As it is written, “He scatters everywhere and gives to the poor; his righteousness lasts forever.”  Now he who supplies seed to the farmer and bread to eat will also supply you with seed and multiply it and enlarge the harvest that results from your righteousness. In every way you will grow richer and become even more generous, and this will cause others to give thanks to God because of us; every blessing received is an overflow in every situation no matter the size of it!  Now in way am I asking you to give forth all your information, no no no!  I am asking you to make sure that once you have been blessed, find a way to pay it forward. I say this all the time on my show…

We all play a part in the kingdom of God.  We all experience the results of failure and victory.  To know that someone is acutally cheering you on makes that victory seem so much sweeter. We reap what we sow (2 Cor 9:6).  When a seed is planted it is covered until it makes the effort to break through the soil and reach for the sunlight.  It stretches and climbs and takes what is needed but also gives back what it has so that everything around it benefits.  So we should be with our praise, our triumphs and even in our disappointments, we should cry out for the one who hears us and lets us know that we are blessed!
