Walk away! It seems like the wrong thing to do but it can give you a chance to regroup and gather your thoughts and take a fresh approach. Sometimes looking at the same thing to long can block you free flow.
Carve out time. Setting a schedule for yourself to write gives you the time you need to prepare, gather, research and put down what you intend to say.
Carry a journal with you. I have this and it is great! You never know when the thought will hit you. Having something to put all your varied thoughts in makes it easier to come back to instead of sitting and glaring at the computer screen wondering when it will happen.
Reach out to other writers. Sometimes fresh ideas help cut through tangled thoughts you may have or push the idea forward that you can’t seem to put your finger on.
Get rid of the deadline. Unless you are on a set deadline from a publisher or other entity, do not impose a deadline on yourself. Having that looming over your head increases the pressure and may stifle your creative fl
